About the Breeds

Originating from Switzerland, the Bernese Mountain Dog is a majestic, tricolor beauty known for strength, loyalty, and a sweet nature. Big yet gentle, Berners are laid back but love to play and please their people. They excel in obedience, tracking, therapy work, and shine as devoted family companions—especially with children. Whether hiking the mountains or relaxing at home, Berners thrive when included in family life.

Lovingly called the "Newfie," this Canadian breed is famous for its gentle, affectionate, and protective spirit—especially with kids. Newfoundlands are versatile working dogs with a history of water rescues, hauling nets, and pulling carts. Known for their strength and endurance, they’re also beloved for their patient temperament, loyalty, and those big, sloppy kisses.

One of America’s favorite breeds, the Golden Retriever is treasured for its intelligence, loyalty, and endlessly friendly personality. Quick learners with strong problem-solving skills, Goldens excel in training, therapy, and assistance roles. They love retrieving, swimming, and being close to their people, making them not only great workers but also the ultimate family companions.

Today, we’re celebrating someone very special… 🤍

After an unexpected emergency C-section, Phoebe has shown us what resilience really looks like.

Every day she’s getting a little stronger, a little more comfortable, and settling beautifully into life with her three little puppies. Watching her care for Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayo while recovering has been nothing short of incredible.

It’s easy to focus on the puppies, and trust us, they’re adorable, but behind every litter is an amazing mom who deserves just as much love.

We’re so thankful for our veterinary team, the support from our puppy families, and everyone who has reached out to check on Phoebe. Your kindness has meant so much.

Our favorite little only child is officially ONE MONTH OLD! 🐾

Pudge has been keeping us busy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here’s what he’s been up to:

🥛 Eating kibble mixed with fresh goat’s milk from our neighbor (yes… he’s a little spoiled.)
🐶 Still convinced that Fern, Sage, and now Phoebe are all his moms.
🛁 Getting a bath almost every day because somehow he always manages to find the dirt.
🌿 Spending as much time outside as possible, always searching for the coolest spot to nap.
🚽 Potty training… let’s just say we’re making memories more than progress. 😂

Watching this sweet boy grow has been such a gift. From his unexpected arrival to the goofy, curious puppy he’s becoming, Pudge continues to make us smile every single day.

It’s amazing how much changes in just a couple of weeks. Every day they’re becoming a little stronger, a little more curious, and one step closer to exploring the world around them.

Watching these tiny personalities begin to shine is one of the greatest joys of raising puppies.

🇺🇸❤️ Cabrini had a great fourth. ❤️🇺🇸

Some of you may remember this sweet girl as Sriracha from our Saucy Litter. Today she’s known as Cabrini, and she’s living the life every Bernese Mountain Dog deserves, with a family who absolutely adores her.

From lake days and belly rubs to patriotic bandanas and endless smiles, these updates never get old. Watching our puppies grow into cherished family members is one of the most rewarding parts of being an ethical breeder.

Cabrini is especially close to our hearts, as she comes from Meadow and Copper’s final litter together. Seeing her happy, healthy, and so deeply loved is everything we could hope for.

Big changes are happening here, and I’m excited to share them.

As I take the next step in my breeding journey, I’m beginning to work alongside a professional handler with the goal of earning my first AKC Championship conformation title. While OFA and genetic health testing, sound temperaments, and raising incredible family dogs will always remain at the heart of my program, I’m committed to growing even further, both as a breeder and as an individual.

I want to continue learning, improving, and working towards producing puppies that are not only healthy and well-tempered, but also an exceptional representation of their breed and true to the breed standard.

With this next chapter comes a new name, one that reflects my dedication to education, preservation, and continual growth.

J & J Meadows is officially becoming Vantage Point.

The name Vantage Point holds a lot of meaning for me. Whenever I’m taking in a beautiful view, there’s nothing I want more than for my dogs to be right there beside me, experiencing it too. It’s a reminder that some of life’s best moments are made even better with our dogs by our side.

This new name represents not only where we’re headed, but the perspective, purpose, and passion behind everything we do. Here’s to the next chapter. 🐾

Our hearts are experiencing every emotion right now.

Phoebe’s labor didn’t unfold the way we had hoped. After a long labor and close communication with our veterinarian, the safest decision for both Phoebe and her puppies was an emergency C-section.

While we mourn the puppies we lost, we’re incredibly thankful that Phoebe is recovering well and that three beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are here with us:

We recently had her pregnancy confirmed, and the vet said everything looked great. We couldn’t be more excited to meet this next generation of Bernese Mountain Dogs.

While we aren’t expecting any of these puppies to be looking for homes at this time, we know so many of you have been following Phoebe’s journey and will be just as excited as we are to watch these little ones arrive.

After an unexpected C-section on Monday morning, Fern welcomed one healthy, handsome baby boy into the world.

While this wasn’t the litter we originally expected, we’re incredibly grateful for a healthy mama and one very special puppy.

Pudge may be an only child, but he’s already proving that big things can come in small packages.

We wanted to share an honest update with you all.

Sage is not pregnant.

While this isn’t the outcome we were hoping for, it’s part of responsible, ethical breeding. Not every pairing results in a litter, and we will never force timing or compromise standards.

Because of this, our Golden Retriever program is on pause while we continue building it the right way.

Our focus now is on Sammy, as we wait for her to complete health testing and become a strong, well-matched breeding candidate.
If all goes as planned, we are looking ahead toward July 2027.

This is what ethical breeding looks like:
Patience.
Planning.
And doing things right, even when it means waiting.
